DVDs
Following the advent of digital technology, the film industry has increasingly relied on technical excellence. The home video market is one example: just think of the obsolete VHS, now totally wiped out by the modern DVD format.
Digital Versatile Discs are optical memory devices which may contain up to 32 subtitle tracks. The chance to enjoy a film in its original version with subtitles in any desired language is coupled by the enormous advantage offered by DVDs including subtitle tracks for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH), who are now fully able to appreciate the wonderful world of films.
Subtitles are not all alike: they should be adapted to the needs of different audiences (adults, children, hard of hearing) and to different settings and formats (film festivals, DVDs, etc…). As an excellent criteria, subtitling should be the accurate and precise translation of the impeccable work of adaptation. In the case of film festival events, for example, subtitles usually need a closer adaptation than in the case of DVDs, where time-coding (in-cue/out-cue time) is of primary importance.
In particular INTERTITULA’s services are aimed at film production and distribution companies.
Besides offering excellent subtitling services in any required language or format, INTERTITULA may provide DVD re-authoring to clients requesting copies with one or more subtitle tracks. Both open and closed caption subtitles are available: open captions are included in the video track and cannot be excluded, while closed captions are on a separate track and may be selected or excluded by the viewer.
Thanks to INTERTITULA’s expertise and technology, the client is guaranteed perfectly readable subtitles and the best balance between in-cue timing, running speed and reading time.
INTERTITULA guarantees clients, accuracy and reliability at all times.
